I've never lived in Cancun. The longest I've been there can't have been over 2 months, tops. However, if there's a place on Earth, other than Merida, that I could call home, that would be Cancun.
You see, there's a lot more to Cancun than what you've seen on tv and/or in stupid movies like "the real Cancun". In Cancun you find what you're looking for, that's all I'll say. And for me, Cancun is the place where some of my most beloved memories, from my childhood and teenage years have happened. I grew up in Cancun. Most early memories I have, most baby pictures of me happened in Cancun. To see the palm trees, the hotels, Blvd. Kukulcan... all of it, pretty much destroyed, it breaks my heart. It really, truly does.
Cancun won't get a ReAct Now concert. It won't get a Relief Marathon with U2, Green Day or anyone else in it. Stan victims didn't either. We'll just have to find a way to pick ourselves up and start rebuilding, and do it as fast as we can.
*sigh*
